Benedryl: Bee stings can be more severe than most insects but usually you get a red rather large area and it may be painful. Use ice immediately to help and be sure the stinger is out. Benedryl may help with the reaction and itching, .

Unlike the honey bee: The bumble bee usually does not leave it's stinger behind. However, on rare occasions the stinger can become lodged, break off the bee and become stuck in your skin. If that happens remove stinger asap by scraping along edge of skin w credit card. Clean area w soap ; warm water. Apply ice in 10 min. Increments (10 on/10 off). Can try tylenol, (acetaminophen) Aspirin or Motrin for pain or Benadryl for swelling.
