Could be: Hair follicles can get inflammed, become tender and have pus without being infected (simple pimple). Often symptoms resolve within 1-2wk. If increasing tenderness, redness, increased drainage and new spots developing it may be worth going to doctor as could be an infection could be a possibility which would require treatment.
