Improves every yr: With improved technology and medicines the survival rates for the post transplant patient continues to improve . The typical patient has a 85 to 90% survival for the first yr depending on the center. A 10 yr survival is 50 to 60% typically.

Good: Average survival is 12-13 years, getting better every year with better immunosuppressive medications. Some people have lived past 20 years.
