A member asked:

Does a geriatric assessment have more than one visit? whats involved?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mostly yes: In the past, it took more than two hours to have a complete assessment. It was somewhat burdensome for a patient and loved one to stay longer. Now, it requires at least 2-4 visits in the next two months. It involves medication adjustments, education to loved one, treatment options and referrals for patient's needs such as MRI of head, physical therapy or neuropsychologyl as well as for counseling.
