Consult a physician: There many causes of both hip and knee pain. It is not unusual for knee pain to be referred from either the hip or the back and it is not unusual for hip pain to be referred from the back. For pain that persists it is important to seek the advise of an orthopaedic surgeon that can correctly identify the cause of the pain to make the correct recommendations for treatment.
