Women > Men: Many studies have shown that women are more prone to mood disorders than men. The ratio is usually reported as 2:1 f:m. Some believe the incidence of mood disorders is grossly under reported for men because men are less likely to acknowledge a disturbance in mood and are less likely to seek treatment. The majority of the statistics regarding mood disorders are gathered from those who seek help.
