Prostatitis: Prostatitis has little to no relationship to celibacy. It occurs in similar frequency in celebate and sexually active males. It is most often caused by gram negative bacteria from ones own GI tract. Nonbacterial prostatitis is much less well understood, it typically is the result of non bacterial induced inflammation.
