Not many: This is what we call a pneumoconiosis from silica inhalation at high levels which causes progressive scarring in the lungs. There is no effective treatment once it is established. Some people may benefit from bronchodilator therapy if they have airflow obstruction documented and many people will require oxygen therapy if their oxygen levels are below normal.
