A member asked:

How long can cord blood be stored for?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Indefinitely?: At the present time, cord blood frozen and stored undisturbed in liquid nitrogen or equivalent temperature of minus 196 degrees celsius has no expiration date and could still potentially be used for transplantation after thawing. This is pretty much true also for any stem cell product (bone marrow, peripheral blood). Successful lab tests have found viable cord blood cells stored for 24 years.
