A member asked:

Will having your tonsils out help prevent infections?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Throat infections : People with recurrent tonsillitis benefit greatly from having their tonsils out. That being said it is a very uncomfortable procedure to have done and you want to be sure that you had significant infections that have not responded properly to antibiotic therapy before undergoing tonsillectomy.
