Trauma: The most common reason for a deviated nasal septum is trauma. It is possible that your nasal anatomy may be inherited, but the likelihood of trauma sometime in your life is certainly the major cause. Falling off your bicycle as a child, a blow to the nose, an athletic injury are possible causes. The nose is in front of the face and is anatomically the most common structure to be altered.

Deviated septum: A deviated septum is a common issue. It can be caused by trauma, position in utero and even during the birth process. If there are symptoms like nasal obstruction, snoring or recurrent sinusitis, have your nose evaluated by a board certified otolaryngologist.
