The meds work: The meds will work only if you take them. If you don't take them they won't work. Sounds simple but is actually difficult. If you have trouble remembering to take them put them with your morning victuals. If you have a psychological block seek help for that. But do something - your physician is a good place to start a dialog.

Patterns: Since no matter how careful you are every day with diabetes is different than the next by being compliant and regular with your meds you can get the full effect of the prescribed therapies and take that variable out of the equation when adjusting things to improve blood sugar control.
