What's best for you.: It is your choice of who you want for this. You did the hard part by surviving the cancer, so you should go with who you feel most comfortable with. Since you survived cancer, there are issues important to you that you have to deal with, and this fact can help you find the psychotherapist that best suits you.

Word of mouth?: Word of mouth is usually best referral... Ur oncologist may have a working relationship with various therapists & may have a good feel of who would be a good fit for u. Other cancer patients may also be good referral source. Psychologytoday.Com or ur insurance co. May have their providers list areas of specialty. Of course, if u had a therapist before, start there... Wishing u well!
