I have had no period but instead i had brown discharge and then clear, i took a pregnant test & it was - could this be a uti?

Light period: This could be a normal finding with just old blood being the brown discharge. Unless you have UTI symptoms (frequency, burning, pain) i would disregard this one light cycle.
