Policies vary.: It used to be that even fathers were not permitted in delivery rooms! today, fathers are welcomed - even expected to be there. It's nice to have an additional person, too. I am wondering how many people are in your family group? Remember that the most important thing is to have a safe delivery. If we're talking about a crowd here, it could be distracting to you and your obstetrical provider.
