Many MFM, geneticist: Many specialists in prenatal diagnosis, including maternal-fetal medicine doctors and geneticists perform chorionic villus sampling transabdominally. The role for this invasive procedure is decreasing, though, as non-invasive fetal dna testing rapidly becomes widely accepted as the new standard of care for detection of severe fetal dna problems (e.g. Maternit21).
