Afib and no valve dx: It is atrial fibrillation and no significant valvular heart disease . It is also called " lone " atrial fibrillation. When talking about Pradaxa it means no artificial heart valves, because it does not yet have approval for that condition.

Yes: Non-valvular atrial fibrillation means that the underlying cause(s)of the atrial fibrillation is not related to rheumatic heart disease or valvular surgery, rather factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, congestive heart failure, sleep apnea, prior heart attack, alcohol, etc.
