Network of nerves: A plexus is a complex network of nerves. The solar plexus is the common name for the celiac plexus which is located in the abdomen behind the stomach. Pain in that area can be caused by various things including a blow to the abdomen or any conditions that irritate surrounding structures such as the pancreas.
