A member asked:

How does metabolic influences of mitochondria processing of simple sugars during pregnancy effect the development of the corpus callosum in a fetus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fetal development: Truth to say, we don't really know what effects the development of the corpus callosum in the fetus. We do know that about 10% of adults do not have a corpus callosum and are essentially normal. Partial absence of the corpus callosum is abnormal and associated with mental retardation.
