Depends: Management of ascending aortic aneurysm his typically dependent on the size of the aorta. Assuming this is not a dissection, the diameter of the aorta is assessed by ct scan or mri. If the diameter is less than 5 cm, the management typically involves medication. If the diameter is over 6 cm, and management often requires surgery. Regular measurements are required for patients treated medically.

Marfan's?: Repair when diameter 4.5cm or greater if bicuspid aortic valve or marfan's, ehrles danlos, with or w/o aortic insufficiency. Otherwise 6cm. Your cardiac surgeon is the one that can advise you on the timing of your repair, earlier repair may be indicated depending on anatomy and sinus of valsalva size.

Echo...: Echocardiogram annually... When > 5 cm or aortic valve regurgitation is severe, then a bentall procedure is the classic repair. Speak with a cardiologist regarding this issue, not a primary care md or np.

Depends: Size symptoms duration small dilation- ectasia can be checked by ct and never need intervention. Large > 5.5 cm or clearly shown to be enlarging, in a suitable surgical candidate will be repaired/ replaced. Successful techniques and grafts are available.
