Can babies get carsick?

Seldom happens: Since babies don't complain of nausea, the only way a parent can know a baby is carsick is if the baby begins each car trip perfectly fine, and ends up looking queasy, acting a bit fussy, and maybe vomiting. Babies enjoy car rides and seem fine with the motion and bumping. In my years as a pediatrician, the youngest child i recall getting carsick was about 3 years old.

Hard to tell: Babies can't complain of feeling nauseous, so its hard to know. But we do know that being jiggled and bounced and rocked seems to actually be calming to babies- and they tend to fall asleep in the car so it doesn't seem as though they get the same carsick feeling as we do. For the 9 months in your womb baby was being jostled all around, twisting and turning- so that feeling is comforting.
