HIV: To acquire HIV infection in the manner you describe would be virtually impossible unless she was bleeding onto your broken skin. The test you describe is very accurate and at 3 mos if negative is fairly definitive. The difficulty is that there have been rare cases in which antibodies have not developed until 6 mos and in at least one case, a year. If you opt for RNA PCR that should be definitive.
