what is the current thinking with respect to stress headaches? i never used to get headaches when i was a kid. in fact, i think that i have only started getting headaches in the last 6 months. can lack of sleep lead to headaches? if so, why? what about st

Hard to answer: In just 400 characters. Stress definitely contributes to headaches either as a trigger for migraines or simply due to muscle tightness in jaws or neck. lack of sleep can cause headache as can disrupted sleep with obstructive sleep apnea (probably a combination of muscular and more central pain mechanisms.) Sometimes headaches like yours just go away.

Tension HA?: Muscle tension can result from lack of sleep & stress. If sleep hygiene does not help, consult your pcp for possible referral to a neurologist.
