Stress definitely contributes to headaches either as a trigger for migraines or simply due to muscle tightness in jaws or neck. lack of sleep can cause headache as can disrupted sleep with obstructive sleep apnea (probably a combination of muscular and more central pain mechanisms.) Sometimes headaches like yours just go away.

Consider: Your recent headaches may represent a migraine variant, and best you start some therapeutic interventions. Lack of sleep could be trigger, but unlikely to be the sole cause.
