Hair Loss: If the t. Rubrum infection is in the scalp, then the area infected usually with have balding hairloss. There may also be itching, flaking, crusting and if the reaction gets bad enough, there could be a large area of redness, tenderness, swelling and puss - just like an abscess. This is called a kerion and requires oral antifungal therapy.
