A member asked:

Can you get herpes in the mouth just from kissing mouth to mouth?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Of course: By adult age, most people have the common oral herpes virus. The luckier ones don't get outbreaks on their lips, or only rarely get them. Kissing is a common way that herpes is transmitted orally (but a person will not catch the same herpes type 1, if she already caught it earlier in her life... however, she may get outbreaks from time to time)
