Get checked out! : At that far along in your pregnancy, sharp vaginal area pains can be Braxton Hicks contracts (false contractions), however at that stage in your pregnancy you'd definitely want to be examined by a healthcare provider to make sure everything is going ok. If you have leakage of fluid, vaginal bleeding, severe pain you should be evaluated immediately.

Vaginal Pain in PG: Nancy, Vaginal pain is not uncommon in pregnancy, and is often due to the pressure on the cervix from your baby. If this becomes more intense and more frequent, I highly urge you to see your OBGYN specialist for another interval evaluation this week. Since you did not mention any vaginal bleeding associated with this pain, I have not included etiologies for this medical paradigm.
