Will taking imodium (loperamide) cause you to retain water? i took a few doses yesterday, but drank a lot of water today and haven't urinated much. not dehydrated

No: The main ingredient of Imodium is loperamide. It works by slowing intestinal transit time, which gives the bowels more time to reabsorb water. It does not cause urinary retention. I would recommend that you drink more water if you have noticed a decrease in urine output. Good luck.
