Nerve injury: comes in different forms. Focal demyelination (loss of the insulation) may take weeks to recover. Damage to the nerve cell itself may recover after initial degeneration and resprouting of the nerve axon from its cell body (regrowth takes about 1 mm per day) . It would be helpful to know a bit more about your situation. (What body part was involved ?)
