Quite a few options: There are creams to relax and numb the anal sphincter and alleviate the pain while the fissure heals. Stool softeners are also a mainstay for treatment. If conservative treatment fails, Botox has some limited success. However, sphincterotomy should provide definitive treatment to allow your fissure to heal.
