A member asked:

I'm on the 3 year birth control implant and i've just started spotting. what can i do to reduce it or make it stop?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

IMPLANON/NEXPLANON: Spotting is one of the most common side effects of this type of contraceptive. When did the implant get placed? If it is nearing the 3 year mark, it may be time to change/remove. I recommend discussing this with your physician, preferably the provider who inserted the device or your primary care physician.
