2 weeks after tonsil infection. still on/off sore throat burn. gp said wait another week. second advice? pain goes from back to top depending on day.

Depends on doctor: Throat symptoms after a tonsil infection will vary with different types of infections and with different patients. Some doctors recheck the throat if the original symptoms don't go away within 1 week. Throat symptoms can also be due to something other than what caused the original infection. With strep throat, one can easily catch it again (but sometimes the first infection did not clear).
