Probably: But make sure you have had a pelvic exam within the last year (including being up to date on your pap smear), and if appropriate, make sure you have had STD testing recently.

No but common: Bleeding after sex is never completely "normal" but if it only happens once you can ignore it. If it happens more, esp. if it becomes a pattern you need to be evaluated by a doctor promptly. Good wishes.

It happens: Sex can produce some contractions of the uterus especially is associated with female orgasm and this can cause some release of menstrual tissue. In addition if your cervix is friable (bleeds easy) it is common to have bleeding after sex. Since it happened once its probably some menstrual tissue.
