You already said it.: This isn't normal for you. Many things can cause unusually heavy menses, most often a cycle that was longer than typical where you didn't release an egg. We call these "anovulatory" cycles. Either way if the bleeding had slowed down now you should be ok. If you are still having a lot of bleeding, get checked to make sure you don't have something else going on. A pelvic exam will help ID the issue.
