Aluminium contents: Deodorants have aluminium contents in its ingredients and it may show up on a mammogram as artifacts and mislead a diagnosis . That is the reason.

Can show up on mammo: Topical agents such as deodorants, antiperspirants, or makeup can contain substances that may show up on X-ray, interfering with proper reading of a mammogram.
