Dark menstrual blood: Without more information, the response to your question is not complete. Menstrual blood gets darker to more time has elapsed before it is visualized as vaginal discharge. Many times a clot has formed and blocks the free flow of blood from inside the womb, making the flow less, and the color darker. If the timing is irregular, or other unusual symptoms occur, see your healthcare provider.
