Very safe: While on birth control your ovaries are suppressed. Birth control does not alter a woman's fertility one way or the other. Birth control decreases a woman's risk for ovarian and uterine cancer. It has no effect on risk of breast cancer. It decreases a woman's risk for endometriosis, fibroids, and lifetime risk of hysterectomy.

Less cancer: There are countless studies that show no cumulative ill effects of birth control pills.Hormonal changes (mostly desired, but undesired too) are all temporary and cease almost immediately upon discontinuation - within one menstrual cycle. Interestingly the rate of uterine and ovarian cancer declines for the remainder of your life, proportional to use, up to 50% after 10 years.
