Botulism: Botulism which results in severe abdominal cramping, nausea, vomiting, swallowing trouble, difficulty breathing and even death. The problem occurs when the bacteria clostridium is ingested from contaminated canned foods or through open wounds often from the soil.

Botulism: Although there are others, clostridium botulinum toxin can be foodborne and kill. Also, puffer fish have the neurotoxin tetrodotoxin- improperly prepared and eaten, paralysis and death can occur.
