Sometimes nothing.: There is a prevalent theory that individuals put on an antidepressant should try and be weened off twice after a three, then six month trial. If negative vfeelings relapse, they should be kept on the antidepressant. However, sudden cessation of any antidepressant without medical supervision can lead to rebound depression.
