I must respectfully: DISAGREE with his Doctor!!!!! Circumcision is the BEST choice and will best serve him and any sexual partners he has in the future (Look up causes of penile and cervical cancer!!!) GET ANOTHER OPINION! Hope this helps Dr Z

Leave it alone: the foreskin will retract naturally as he grows older. If there are problems such as severe adhesions then they can be dealt with. Obviously by the redness, this is causing more harm than good. Retraction of the foreskin should not be forced, it may not happen until he is a teen.

Foreskin retraction: Gentle daily foreskin retraction is often recommended for uncircumcised infants, or for those with a redundant foreskin following the circumcision. Redness and even slight bleeding at the junction of the foreskin and penis shaft is relatively common. Application of a water based lubricating jelly to the red area can improve comfort and reduce skin adhesions.
