Vertigo: rarely responds to hydration. Lightheadedness due to volume contraction / dehydration, on the other hand is more likely to improve with hydration. Consider sodium levels and imbalance (increasing free water intake can lead to hyponatremia). Diuretics are sometimes used to treat forms of vestibular dysfunction.
