Tuna in pregancy: I would avoid it, as tuna, king mackeral and swordfish have high levels of mercury, which can cause defects in fetuses/babies. You can get omega 3 in prenatal vitamins or eating safe fish like salmon( wild not farmed) sardines 6 oz per week or 2 x per week.

Limit- high mercury!: Unfortunately our oceans (oxymetazoline) are polluted. Tuna is among the fish higher in Mercury, which is very toxic to developing babies. The US EPA says pregnant women can eat 8-12 ounces of light canned tuna/week but should avoid albacore. However, other experts feel it's wise to avoid all tuna in pregnancy- see http://tinyurl.com/pkuxagy Wild salmon, low in mercury but high in Omega 3's is the safest to eat.
