Unclear: Is the bottle sharing with someone you know? You can question them if you do. If this person is someone you have been intimate with, then it is most likely not going to happen. If the bottle sharing was with someone with active oral herpetic infection then yes. There is virtually nothing you can do to prevent this at this point . I would be careful to share with no one in the future.

Transmission: Herpes virus can be transmitted even though that person had no outbreak at the time. Just wait and see if anything develops, but if the person has not had a past history of herpes or STD's you will most likely be fine. If there was a history, discuss this with your physician for advice.

Possible: This can be a mechanism of getting herpes but it is rare. The herpes virus is not very long lasting away from the body , so unlike kissing someone the virus just does not last long on the bottle. The other factor is that the person you are sharing the bottle with needs to have herpes, and the usually needs to be having an active case.
