Tachy: Heart rhythm originating from the sinoatrial node with an elevated rate of impulses, defined as a rate greater than 100 beats/min (bpm) in an average adult. This can be cause by situations that require an increase in cardiac output. Exercise for example. It would be abnormal if you are resting for example and you have increased heart rate. Others: Hyperthyroidism, Stimulants, Coffee, RedBull etc.
