Extra 20 all cells: So sorry about your loss. This means that the baby had an extra chromosome 20 in all of his cells. If it were a "mosaic" pattern the extra 20 chromosome would be only in SOME of his cells.

3 copies: Trisomy refers to having 3 copies of a chromosome. We are supposed to have two copies of each - one from our mom and one from our dad. Nonmosaic means that all of the cells showed this pattern.

Extrachromosome: This means your fetus had 3 copies of the number 20 chromosome, and no evidence of any tissue with the normal 2 copies.Chromosomes carry the instructions that tell the fetus how to form its organs and tissues. When an extra one shows up, it causes confusion in that process and many will miscarry. A few combinations like trisomy 21 can be born but have predictable health problems through life.
