Tell your physian.: Hi Deborah, It is not unusual to have constipation form time to time. If there is a pattern, however, where you notice pain with defecation at the time of your menses, month after month then by all means consult your physician. An obstetrician/gynecologist would consider a work up for endometriosis. Painful sex, periods, bowel movements and urination lead us to think about this as a diagnosis
