Re-evaluation: Viral sore throat can sometimes persist for quite some time. Mononucleosis and herpes simplex can commonly cause long duration sore throat. Your primary care should evaluate you and consider referral to an ear, nose and throat specialist. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
