I've just started zoloft (sertraline) and also am supposed to take 1 325mg aspirin per day per dr instructions. i've read this can cause bleeding. should i take?

Discuss with your Dr: Zoloft (sertraline) and other SSRI type medications have the potential to cause bleeding because they increase the anti-platelet action of aspirin. A 2009 review of the medical literature http://1.usa.gov/1zMVIjj concluded that Because the absolute risk of GI bleeds with SSRIs is low, precautions are probably necessary only in high-risk patients, such as those with history of gastritis, ulcer or bleeding.
