Just take one.: Both can cause mouth dryness/constipation & both are sedating anti-depressants. Would prefer mirtazapine although you did not really provide details of what type of depression you have. If you really need to continue amitriptyline, would suggest SSRI like sertraline instead of mirtazapine in AM to counteract the constipation side effect of amitriptyline.
