Told to use thick-it for to strengthen weak swallowing. forgot to ask if it interferes with underactive thyroid? plan on using it on/off for few weeks

Hmm: If you were on hormone replacement for underactive thyroid, taking a drug like Synthroid (thyroxine) I would advise you to separate the thick it and food by a few hours so that the food does not interfere with the Synthroid (thyroxine) absorption. However you are not on any meds so I am not sure how thick It will affect your thyroid. Contact the doctor who knows you for the best advice.
