A member asked:

My daughter has a very dry cough. today is day 5. no fever. we've been giving her children's mucinex (guaifenesin). but the cough has progressively gone worse...

Cough: progressively worsening cough, even with no fever, would be a good reason to see your pediatrician. A complete examination and a detailed cough history would help to make a proper diagnosis and provide treatment as needed. Is the cough consistent? worse at certain times of day? Anything help cough or make cough worse? many times cough does not actually come from a problem in the lungs.
